MEDICAL TESTS AS PER FACTORIES ACT
There are many medical tests that are to be done as per factories act in India and differs according to the industry. Few tests are routine and are to be conducted periodically once in 6 months or on yearly basis. It is the employer’s decision to conduct the test in house in their factory premises or in a authorised Healthcare centre or a Hospital. All health records are to be verified and Certified by competent medical officers as per the statutory requirement.
For most of the industries common medical test are:
- Complete Blood Count
- Serum urea
- Random blood sugar
- Serum creatinine
- Chest X-Ray, P.A.view
- Eye screening for Near, Distance & Colour vision. These are the tests that are to be done in periodical medical examinations which can also be done Onsite (factory in-house).
Few industries in which there are possibilities of in Inhaling smoke, fumes or any allergic chemicals, PFT (Pulmonary Function test) by Spirometry method is advised.
If an Employee is exposed in Sound, Audiometry test is to be done and should be certified by a medical officer.
